About the position

You'll be part of a team building a robust sales pipeline for microgrid projects. Through comprehensive market research, you will identify and qualify new leads, spearheading top-of-the-funnel sales and marketing activities for the BDM's. These efforts are crucial in transforming the national energy landscape, one project at a time. You'll have the opportunity to learn the basics of the microgrid industry and have room for professional growth. This is a hybrid role based out of our office in Santa Monica, reporting to the Manager of Inside Sales.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead end-to-end lead generation, driving the development and implementation of outbound marketing strategies for lead acquisition.
  • Create and maintain a database of current and potential customers.
  • Research industry/persona/location profiles to identify an addressable market and create targeted outreach.
  • Craft email campaigns to demonstrate the value proposition of Scale's solutions.
  • Synthesize information and material from both Marketing and Business Development teams for use in messaging prospective customers.
  • Understand customers' needs and identify sales opportunities.
  • Identify challenges and provide practical solutions to prospects. Provide insights to prospect's questions as a product knowledge specialist.
  • Conduct outbound calling to establish initial meetings; nurture and build new relationships with key decision-makers to set appointments with a senior member of the business development team.
  • Assess opportunities for improvement and demonstrate willingness and ability to adapt to change.
  • Stay informed about competing products and services.
  • Attend conferences and events and represent Scale's core values.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of prior Sales and/or Marketing work experience or relevant internships are preferred.
  • Experience with prospecting platforms and CRM systems is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the distributed energy landscape or a desire to learn quickly and continuously expand.
  • Motivated by achieving measurable results and exceeding sales/productivity targets.
  • Maintain a self-starter attitude and creative mindset.
  • Experience with public speaking or in a previous sales-related role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a productive team member.
  • Ability to travel domestically (10-15%)
  • Excellent problem solver and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
