About the position

The Inside Sales Associate position at Grainger involves engaging with customers to drive sales and build relationships. This role includes a comprehensive 4-week paid training program to equip associates with essential selling skills. After training, associates will manage a book of business consisting of mid-size customer accounts, focusing on revenue growth through strategic sales opportunities. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for remote work after training completion, and features uncapped commission potential based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals by maximizing customer engagement and personal productivity.
  • Manage a book of business and build strong customer relationships to understand their needs.
  • Source and prioritize new sales opportunities through outbound calls and emails.
  • Adapt communication strategies to effectively address customer challenges and provide solutions.
  • Meet monthly performance metrics and demonstrate perseverance in overcoming customer objections to close sales.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Comfortable spending 50% or more of the day working with customers over the phone.
  • Experience with customer relationship management software, such as Salesforce, is a plus.
