About the position

The Inside Sales Associate position at Grainger involves participating in a comprehensive 4-week paid training program to develop essential selling skills. After training, associates will manage a book of business consisting of 100 or more mid-size customer accounts, focusing on building relationships and driving sales growth through strategic opportunities. This hybrid role allows for remote work on designated days and emphasizes teamwork and collaboration within a sales-center environment.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals by maximizing customer engagement and personal productivity.
  • Manage a book of business and build customer relationships to understand their needs.
  • Source and prioritize new sales opportunities through outbound calls and emails.
  • Adapt communication strategies to effectively address customer challenges and provide solutions.
  • Meet monthly performance metrics and demonstrate perseverance in overcoming customer concerns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
  • Comfortable spending 50% or more of the day working with customers over the phone.
  • Experience with customer relationship management software, such as Salesforce, is a plus.
