About the position

The Inside Sales Associate at Airgas is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the branch, ensuring that rental equipment is available for orders, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves maintaining a safe working environment, processing customer requests, coordinating equipment requirements, and preparing quotes for outside sales. The associate will work closely with the Branch Manager and communicate with the Outside Sales Associate to fulfill customer needs efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations of the branch under the direction of the Branch Manager.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following health and safety guidelines.
• Provide excellent customer service to all accounts.
• Follow up on leads sent to the area via Web and Associations.
• Handle walk-in customers in a timely manner, including equipment returns.
• Process credit card charges and generate rental agreements.
• Communicate daily with Outside Sales Associate regarding inquiries and orders.
• Prepare quotes for outside sales and fax to clients as required.
• Coordinate equipment requirements for efficient order fulfillment.
• Plan and direct customer orders with the service department.
• Communicate with the service department regarding equipment shipments and arrange orders for shipment.
• Assist with vendor purchasing and parts/equipment inventories.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education equivalent to a College diploma.
• Greater than three years of customer service experience in an industrial/rental environment is preferred.
• Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applications, and equipment is an asset.
• Attention to detail and solid organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Sales experience in industrial equipment rental or welding equipment sales/rental is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in construction, fabrication, and/or manufacturing sectors.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally in group situations.
