About the position

The Inside Sales Professional at Foundation Building Materials (FBM) is responsible for discovering sales opportunities and converting leads into new customers. This role focuses on front counter sales, customer relationship management, and supporting the sales team to enhance customer service and branch performance. The position emphasizes integrity and aims to provide an outstanding customer experience in the building products industry.

Responsibilities

  • Handle front counter sales and manage customer relationships.
  • Code and input customer orders and pricing information into the computer system.
  • Provide excellent customer support through product knowledge.
  • Continuously improve and maintain in-depth product knowledge.
  • Coordinate deliveries with Operations staff.
  • Assist walk-in customers and resolve customer issues.
  • Support Outside Sales Representatives as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers and management.
  • Focus on securing profitable sales opportunities through excellent service.
  • Effectively upsell and cross-sell products.
  • Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products.
  • Maintain stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
  • Operate and balance cash register daily.
  • Initiate telephone calls to customers to generate sales as needed.
  • Respond swiftly to customer complaints or inquiries.
  • Participate in monthly and/or annual physical inventories.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual candidate highly preferred.
  • Computer savvy with the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Ability to build relationships with repeat customers.
  • Works well under pressure and with a sense of urgency.
  • Must pass drug screen, physical, and background check after conditional offer.
