About the position

The Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative at National Strand Products LP is responsible for managing customer inquiries, processing sales orders, and maintaining customer relationships. This role involves preparing price quotes, coordinating with various departments to ensure timely order fulfillment, and providing excellent customer service to enhance client satisfaction. The representative will also maintain knowledge of steel wire products and assist in various administrative tasks related to sales and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, processes, and follows up on inquiries for sales orders.
  • Prepares price quotes and initiates the order entry process.
  • Maintains and updates database information such as sales records and price pages.
  • Handles customer complaints and refers them to designated departments for investigation.
  • Maintains contact with management of assigned accounts.
  • Keeps up-to-date knowledge of steel wire products.
  • Assists Sales Representatives and Sales Managers as needed.
  • Coordinates paperwork flow until billing is completed.
  • Works with production, scheduling, and shipping to meet customer requirements.
  • Assists customers with order placement, product questions, and billing inquiries.
  • Initiates order entry process and accurately enters data into ERP.
  • Balances company policy with customer benefit through effective decision-making.
  • Enhances customer relationships by informing them of new product offerings.
  • Assists in sample and literature requests, tracking back orders, and pulling customer information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two years of customer service experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and professional correspondence.
  • Ability to present effectively before groups.
  • Ability to think strategically and solve problems effectively.
  • Typing speed of 50+ words per minute.
  • Professional phone manner.
  • Understanding of Washington Department of Transportation regulations.
