About the position

The Inside Sales Engineer at Experitec is responsible for engaging with end-users and consulting engineers to identify their specific application needs. This role involves selecting and sizing measurement technology, quoting equipment, and performing various sales tasks post-proposal delivery. The position requires a proactive approach to managing customer relationships and ensuring a seamless experience by collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with end-users and consulting engineers to determine application requirements.
  • Select and size appropriate measurement technology based on customer needs.
  • Quote equipment and perform sales tasks after proposal delivery.
  • Follow up with customers regarding their purchasing status and any changes required.
  • Process incoming purchase orders related to assigned and unassigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, Customer Service, and other departments to enhance customer experience.
  • Manage workload by setting expectations with customers and prioritizing tasks based on input from Account Managers.
  • Proactively communicate with internal and external partners about proposal and purchase order statuses.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of industrial or technical work experience.
  • One or more years of customer service experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and Outlook email.
  • Experience using formulas to reference data across multiple worksheets.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm with occasional additional hours.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record background check.
  • Ability to travel domestically for training opportunities, including some overnight stays.
  • Ability to wear PPE as appropriate for potential environmental hazards.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workload independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Five or more years of industrial or technical work experience.
  • Two or more years of CRM experience.
  • Experience in instrumentation, manufacturing, and/or process control industries.
  • Two or more years of experience in face-to-face sales and customer engagement.
