About the position

As a key member of the Quill team, you will be responsible for driving sales results for a designated portfolio of accounts, which is expected to generate significant revenue, approximately $8-10 million or more. Your primary focus will be on acquiring new business while also managing and growing the existing customer base. This role requires a strategic approach to account management, where you will map accounts to identify core and specialty category opportunities that align with Quill's offerings. You will create and maintain a comprehensive understanding of your accounts, developing strategic growth plans that pinpoint new opportunities for business development. Prioritizing your account portfolio will be essential to ensure effective resource deployment and to maximize growth potential. Regular use of enablement tools will be necessary to keep customer data updated, manage a healthy sales pipeline, and advance opportunities as they progress through the sales cycle. Your sales strategies will be executed through various channels, including phone, social selling, email, and on-site visits, allowing you to leverage multiple methodologies to retain and grow your customer base. A deep knowledge of Quill's products, customers, and vertical markets will be crucial to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales results for assigned book of accounts with large sales and potential (~$8-10M+).
  • Acquire new business and grow sales as well as manage current customer base.
  • Map accounts and identify core and specialty category opportunities.
  • Create and maintain a solid understanding of accounts, build strategic growth plans, and identify new opportunities for growth and business development.
  • Prioritize account portfolio to gain a solid understanding of accounts and identify new opportunities for resource deployment.
  • Utilize enablement tools to keep customer data updated, manage a healthy pipeline, and advance opportunities.
  • Know products, customers, and vertical markets.
  • Utilize Salesforce on a regular basis.
  • Execute sales strategies through phone, social selling, email/digital, and on-site visits.
  • Leverage sales methodologies to retain and grow customer base.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years sales experience in Account Management and/or Business Development
  • Ability to interface at customer’s most senior levels
  • Strong ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Consultative selling, solutions selling, insight selling, negotiation skills
  • Strong business, financial, operations, and technology acumen
  • Ability to analyze customer data, business, and industry trends to create tailored solutions for customers
  • Ability to function independently with minimal daily supervision
  • Creative and cognitive thinking ability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Prior experience working with large complex accounts
  • Had responsibility for a sales quota and a track record of exceeding quota
  • Managed a complex deal shaping from start to finish
  • Experience with business-to-business sales process
  • Had responsibility to retain and grow accounts
