About the position

The Inside Sales Manager (ISM) is responsible for managing a sales territory and leading a team of Inside Sales Representatives (ISRs) within the Human Capital Management (HCM) sector at Paychex. This role is pivotal in driving sales performance and operational excellence through effective coaching, development, and implementation of a territory sales plan that leverages high-velocity selling motions. The ISM will focus on creating a demand generation plan aimed at achieving sales quotas while ensuring that the team operates within budgeted financial guidelines. In addition to managing the sales team, the ISM will be accountable for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new sales talent. This includes conducting performance reviews and providing ongoing coaching to enhance the selling skills of the ISRs. The ISM will also oversee the daily activities of the sales team, ensuring that they meet or exceed corporate goals and KPIs. Monitoring sales forecasts and taking corrective actions when necessary is a critical part of this role. The ISM will play a key role in fostering a culture of proactivity, resilience, and accountability within the team. They will also be responsible for identifying potential management candidates from within the team and ensuring their promotion path is clear. The ISM will represent Paychex positively to clients and the community, ensuring that the team maintains a high standard of professionalism and performance. This position offers various career advancement opportunities, including roles such as Field Sales Manager, Lead Generation Director, PEO Inside Sales Manager, and Inside Sales Director, among others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HCM Inside Sales micro team.
  • Manage the achievement of corporate objectives and sales quotas within budgeted financial guidelines.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire job applicants for the inside sales team.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to enhance selling skills of ISRs.
  • Initiate and supervise ongoing training of sales representatives in technical, competitive, and sales skills knowledge.
  • Manage daily activities and KPIs of the inside sales team, directing staff to meet or exceed corporate goals.
  • Monitor attainment versus forecast and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Identify potential management candidates and facilitate their promotion path.
  • Project a positive image representing the corporation to clients and the community.
  • Ensure accuracy of weekly activity reports and audit commission and expense reports.
  • Foster a culture of proactivity, resilience, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, or other relevant field.
  • 4 years of experience in Sales as a high performer.
  • 1 year of experience in Leadership.
  • 1 year of experience in Inside Sales.
  • 1 year of experience in the HCM industry.
