About the position

The Inside Sales Manager (ISM) for HR Services at Paychex is a pivotal role responsible for managing a sales territory and leading a team of Inside Sales Representatives (ISRs). This position is focused on driving sales performance through effective coaching, development, and implementation of a territory sales plan that leverages high-velocity selling motions. The ISM will be accountable for achieving corporate objectives and sales quotas while adhering to budgeted financial guidelines. This role requires a strong emphasis on operational excellence, utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement plans to enhance team performance and sales outcomes. In addition to managing the sales team, the ISM will be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new sales talent. They will conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to ISRs, ensuring they possess the necessary technical knowledge, competitive insights, and sales skills to succeed. The ISM will also oversee the daily activities of the inside sales team, directing efforts to meet or exceed Paychex's corporate goals. Monitoring sales forecasts and taking corrective actions when necessary will be crucial to maintaining performance standards. The ISM will play a key role in identifying potential management candidates within the team and will be accountable for their promotion paths. This position requires a proactive approach to fostering a culture of resilience and accountability within the sales team, projecting a positive image of the corporation to clients and the community. Additionally, the ISM will ensure the accuracy of weekly activity reports and audit commission and expense reports to maintain financial integrity within the sales operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HCM Inside Sales team.
  • Manage the achievement of corporate objectives and sales quotas within budgeted financial guidelines.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire job applicants for the sales team.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to enhance sales skills of inside sales representatives.
  • Initiate and supervise ongoing training for sales representatives in technical knowledge, competitive knowledge, and sales skills.
  • Manage daily activities and KPIs of the inside sales team, directing staff to meet or exceed corporate goals.
  • Monitor attainment versus forecast and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Identify potential management candidates and facilitate their promotion path.
  • Project a positive image of the corporation to clients and the community.
  • Ensure accuracy of weekly activity reports and audit commission and expense reports.
  • Foster a culture of proactivity, resilience, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, or other relevant field.
  • 5 years of experience in Sales.
  • 3 years of experience in Leadership roles.
  • 3 years of experience in Inside Sales.
  • 3 years of experience in the HCM Industry.
