About the position

As an Inside Sales Manager for Retention at WM, you will play a crucial role in managing the activities of the Market Area's Inside Sales Team. This position requires a high level of expertise in selling WM services over the telephone, aimed at generating additional revenue. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales and marketing programs that cater to current and future customer needs. Your leadership will guide the Inside Sales Team members, ensuring they are equipped to meet the demands of the market and deliver exceptional service to our clients throughout North America. In this role, you will maintain and reinforce the corporate sales strategy, ensuring that the Inside Sales Team adheres to established protocols while fostering a high level of customer satisfaction in all sales transactions. You will work closely with the Market Area Sales Manager to address unique customer issues and supervise the activities of the Inside Sales Department. A key aspect of your responsibilities will be to ensure that team members meet or exceed their sales call activity goals, which include new sales, lead generation, and contact productivity. You will also be tasked with forecasting and recruiting qualified candidates for the Inside Sales Team, as well as developing and executing ongoing training programs that include both formal training and informal coaching sessions. Your role will involve encouraging feedback from team members and being available to provide direction and assistance as needed. Additionally, you will maintain accurate customer records for all interactions, including prospect data, contracts, orders, and service documentation. Collaborating with the Market Area Sales Manager, you will develop strategies to upsell and cross-sell to customers through outbound calls, ensuring that Inside Sales Representatives are well-prepared to meet their goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the activities of the Market Area's Inside Sales Team.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing programs to meet customer needs.

  • Establish and maintain high customer satisfaction on all sales transactions.
  • Supervise activities of the Inside Sales Department.
  • Ensure team members meet or exceed sales call activity goals.
  • Forecast and recruit qualified candidates for Inside Sales positions.
  • Develop and execute ongoing training for Inside Sales Representatives.
  • Encourage feedback and provide assistance to team members.
  • Maintain accurate customer records for all interactions.
  • Work with the Market Area Sales Manager to develop upsell and cross-sell strategies.
  • Communicate goals to Inside Sales Representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Three years of relevant work experience in business-to-business sales management.
  • Three years in direct business-to-business sales experience.
  • Proven success in a Level 4-6 sales position for at least 3 years.
