About the position

The Kalamazoo Growlers are seeking a Fan Experience Manager to join their team, offering a full-time opportunity for individuals looking to gain real-world sales experience in the sports industry. The Growlers, a summer collegiate baseball team in the Northwoods League, have a rich history of attendance and community engagement, making this an exciting opportunity for the right candidate. As a Fan Experience Manager, you will be responsible for generating ticket sales revenue by contacting qualified fans who have previously attended games. This role requires making 40-80 calls per day, working weekdays and some weekends, and maintaining detailed call logs. You will also provide superior service to clients and existing ticket holders, develop long-term relationships with fans, and participate in weekly sales training and meetings to enhance your skills. In addition to ticket sales, you will be expected to assist with various team responsibilities, including game day and event availability, setup and execution of community events, and maintaining the cleanliness of the ballpark. This position offers a unique blend of sales, customer service, and event management, making it ideal for someone passionate about sports and eager to make an impact in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Contacting qualified fans who have previously attended games to generate ticket sales revenue through mini-plans and season ticket sales
  • Make 40-80 calls per day
  • Ability to work weekdays and some weekends
  • Complete/graduate sales training boot camp
  • Maintain call logs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Provide superior service to clients, existing ticket holders, and general fans
  • Selling seasonal and partial ticket plans
  • Develop relationships with fans for long term bonds
  • Attend weekly sales trainings and meetings along with daily call logs and reports
  • Upgrade current ticket holders to new packages and plans
  • Contact promotional entries and database for future packages
  • Participate in weekly meetings to help develop skills and accelerate growth
  • Customer service and ticketing problem solving
  • Attending/staffing additional outside events (community relations)
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by General Manager
  • Expected to be available for all Kalamazoo Growlers home games and team events; this includes weekends and holidays
  • Expected to be available and participate in the setup, execution and tear down of select Outlier Events festivals
  • Expected to be available to help with the setup, execution and tear down of concessions at select WMU athletic events
  • Expected to be available from mid-morning through the end of the game and/or event
  • You are expected to attend office hours from 8 AM to 5 PM each weekday
  • Assist with ballpark set-up and tear-down before-the-season, after-the-season
  • Help maintain ballpark cleanliness
  • Assist with the tarp pull during rain delays
  • All other duties as assigned
