About the position

The position is responsible for overseeing the complete range of inside sales activities within Ulbrich of Illinois. The role involves supervising staff and activities to ensure that the company's sales goals are achieved, managing major customer accounts, and coordinating customer service activities with outside sales representatives and other departments. The candidate will develop a proactive sales approach, build intelligence on products and markets, and work closely with all departments to meet customer requirements. Additionally, the role includes gathering forecast data for MRP and inventory management, conducting weekly sales meetings, and participating in committees to discuss sales performance and planning matters. The position also involves hiring, training, and supervising staff members, ensuring compliance with quality system procedures, and maintaining regular attendance at work.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff and activities of the inside sales department to achieve sales goals.
  • Manage assigned major customer accounts.
  • Coordinate customer service activities with outside sales representatives and other departments.
  • Develop proactive sales approach focusing on new products and sales growth.
  • Build intelligence on products and markets to identify sales opportunities.
  • Work closely with all departments to convey customer requirements effectively.
  • Relay order status to customers and outside sales staff in a timely manner.
  • Gather forecast data for MRP and inventory management.
  • Review inquiries, sales reports, and new orders relevant to sales performance.
  • Approve special prices within competitive guidelines.
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings.
  • Participate in committees discussing sales performance and planning matters.
  • Interview and recommend hiring of employees for the department.
  • Train and instruct staff members and conduct sales meetings as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field (technical degree/training is a plus).
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory responsibility in sales.
  • Previous inside sales-outside sales experience preferred.
  • Results-oriented sales professional with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, negotiation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and motivate staff.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite products.
