About the position

The Kolping Haus is seeking an Inside Sales Manager who will serve as the initial point of contact for all event rentals held at our venue. This role is pivotal in soliciting private event business, which includes corporate events, trade events, social events, wedding ceremonies, and wedding receptions on the Kolping property. The Sales Manager will creatively sell all event spaces while aligning with client budgets and expectations. This position requires the development and maintenance of long-lasting client relationships, ensuring that The Kolping Society is positively represented within the community. In this role, the Sales Manager will be responsible for maintaining correspondence and handling all details related to the sale of both indoor and outdoor event spaces. Effective communication with the assigned Event Manager and Food and Beverage Service Manager is crucial to ensure that the preparation and execution of events meet and exceed client expectations. The Sales Manager will utilize appropriate event management documents to create and maintain both physical and electronic files for each event and client, ensuring organized and detailed event documentation is passed along to the Event Manager for smooth planning and execution. Additionally, the Sales Manager will schedule and conduct site tours with prospective clients and hold two Open House evenings per month. Maintaining display tables in the event space for site tours and Open House evenings is also part of the responsibilities. Collaboration with clients and vendors to provide content for printed promotional materials and social media postings for The Kolping Haus is expected. The Sales Manager will also attend industry-related events to promote The Kolping Haus to potential clients. Other duties may be assigned by The Kolping Haus Business Manager as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Creatively sell all event spaces in alignment with budgets
  • Develop and maintain long-lasting client relationships

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior experience in event sales/management or equivalent experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Exemplary attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and sell prospective clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional and effective interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Appreciation and general understanding of the culture of The Kolping Society of Cincinnati

Nice-to-haves
