About the position

The position involves directing and supporting the Order Processing personnel within a well-established manufacturer and fabricator of custom rubber and plastic products. The role is crucial in ensuring that the order processing team operates efficiently and effectively, handling various tasks that contribute to the overall success of the company. Daily responsibilities include composing and forwarding quotations to customers, engaging in sales discussions, and evaluating and negotiating sales agreements. The individual will also be responsible for developing terms of inquiries with suppliers and expediting orders with both internal and external supply chains. Additionally, organizing inquiries for shipping quotations and performing typical customer service duties are essential aspects of the role. The successful candidate will work closely with upper management, suppliers, and production shops to create custom proposals and determine product pricing. This collaborative environment requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as a detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in all tasks. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, is necessary, as the role will involve interfacing with the company's business software, Sage 100, and coordinating with various departments across the organization.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess technical ability and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • College degree or equivalent preferred.
