About the position

The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) at Vallen Distribution Inc. is responsible for providing exceptional service to customers by managing relationships, processing orders, ensuring product availability, and resolving issues. This role serves as the primary contact for assigned customers, handling inquiries related to service offerings, pricing, and shipping. The ISR also identifies upselling opportunities and collaborates with sales teams to solicit new business within assigned segments.

Responsibilities

  • Remotely contact current and potential customers to grow prospects and sales.
  • Generate and refer leads for new and/or enhanced sales opportunities to the Vallen sales team.
  • Assist with preparing sales quotes, bids, and proposals.
  • Provide post-sale training, support, and service transition.
  • Resolve customer complaints immediately and monitor segment performance through required reports.
  • Ensure compliance with service KPI goals and manage company assets appropriately.
  • Ensure timely resolution of Accounts Receivable disputes and compliance with customer contracts.
  • Assist in proposals and large project development, ensuring service levels meet or exceed customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or three to five years of inside sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as training instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to interface in a customer-responsive manner over the telephone and in person.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Nice-to-haves
