About the position

The Inside Sales Representative at Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible for selling clinical products and services primarily through telephone communication, while also utilizing email, internet, and other technologies. This role focuses on maintaining effective customer relations, developing growth opportunities within an existing customer base, and ensuring market penetration and profitability. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office work from Monday to Thursday and remote work on Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective customer relations with purchasing and end users within assigned territory.
  • Independently make decisions and apply available resources to meet customer needs while working effectively with a cross-functional team.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to expand business within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives.
  • Perform sales calls and vendor relations with all customers and potential customers primarily by phone, with possible face-to-face meetings.
  • Research competitor and industry activity, keeping informed of new products/services and incorporating this data into the business plan.
  • Introduce new products and services to customers.
  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files vital for the management of territory.
  • Connect with supervisor regarding customer issues or potential problems and perform other tasks assigned by the manager.
  • Advise customers of supply and price trends and assist in inventory control.
  • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; Science or Business strongly preferred.
  • 0 - 2 years of healthcare/science sales experience required, 2+ years preferred.
  • Shown selling agility.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Consistent track record of establishing goals and achieving results.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and the internet.
  • Strong desire to serve the customer.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, sales meetings, and training events if needed.
  • Flexibility and comfort with working within time zones across the US.
