About the position

The Inside Sales Representative for the Public Sector at Splunk is responsible for expanding and growing territories by leveraging sales, negotiation, and leadership skills to prospect and conduct lead generation techniques. This role focuses on selling Splunk's software solutions to well-known companies, fostering client relationships, and achieving assigned revenue goals.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up with inbound leads and provide status updates through the company CRM system.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting and lead generation.
  • Qualify leads and schedule product demos for customers.
  • Build and foster client relationships through personalized contact and understanding of client needs.
  • Accurately forecast opportunities based on realistic assessments.
  • Meet/exceed assigned revenue goals.
  • Partner with field sales representatives in various geo/territories.
  • Support attendance to all field marketing events.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in selling enterprise IT solutions (BI, data analytics, security software, risk management software or networking performance).
  • Consultative sales experience at meaningful companies/businesses.
  • Proven track record of exceeding yearly quota.
  • Experience in a fast-growing software sales company.
  • Reputation for success in consultative sales environments.
  • Ability to develop and nurture new business and manage the sales cycle from generating leads through closing.
  • Strong technical aptitude and computer skills, including CRM systems, Word, Excel, and Salesforce.com.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team.
