About the position

The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) role at Carter Lumber is focused on providing exceptional customer service and support to customers visiting the store. The ISR will assist customers with product information, project advice, and transaction processing, while also following up on online quotes and supporting outside sales efforts. This position emphasizes a friendly and outgoing personality, as well as a commitment to meeting sales and profit goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in-store by providing product information and project advice.
  • Produce estimates for packages and projects based on customer needs.
  • Process transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Follow up on online customer quotes to convert leads into sales.
  • Cold call to qualify new leads and expand customer base.
  • Support Outside Sales Representatives as needed.
  • Conduct inventory control by performing cycle counts and resolving discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Experience working in sales or customer service.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Familiarity with building materials is helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to ensure sales and profit goals are met.
