About the position

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for managing inbound sales leads and nurturing existing customer relationships within a specific geographical territory. This role is essential for driving sales growth by developing new customer relationships and identifying product placement opportunities. The representative will collaborate closely with the Regional Sales Manager, food brokers, and category buyers to meet sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up on inbound sales leads and maintain relationships with current customers.
  • Provide high-level customer service by addressing concerns and identifying customer needs.
  • Collect and analyze data to formulate plans for driving sales growth.
  • Perform administrative duties including entering orders and coordinating sample requests.
  • Collaborate with sales managers and food brokers to support new product launches and identify product line gaps.
  • Monitor client and competitor activity to recommend growth opportunities.
  • Create spreadsheets to communicate issues and opportunities clearly.
  • Make informed business decisions that impact sales profitability.

Requirements

  • College degree or a combination of education and experience.
  • Previous sales experience preferred, with 3+ years being a plus.
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and solve problems under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
