About the position

The Inside Sales Representative at BlueLinx is responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships while maximizing sales opportunities. This role involves working closely with the sales team to identify new sales opportunities, develop competitive pricing strategies, and provide exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

  • Identify new sales opportunities with new and existing customers and present those options.
  • Maximize sales efforts by focusing on the largest and most profitable opportunities.
  • Enhance the sales portfolio to clients to be viewed as an asset.
  • Improve profitability, product penetration, and product mix with top customers.
  • Qualify sales opportunities through market/customer research and collaboration with outside sales representatives.
  • Develop sales solutions and competitive pricing strategies.
  • Communicate the value proposition to customers.
  • Propose sales solutions and reevaluate them as necessary.
  • Close sales opportunities by gaining purchase orders and executing order fulfillment procedures.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and post-sales satisfaction to facilitate long-term relationships for repeat business.
  • Manage assigned product responsibilities, including inventory levels and pricing.
  • Set sales quotas and work towards achieving them.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, communication, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of sales experience with comfort on the telephone and honest communication.
  • Strong planning, organization, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of account management, customer support, and service.
  • Understanding of the importance of sales with a high internal drive to perform.
  • Competitive drive and results-focused mindset.
  • Experience in establishing strong relationships through positive customer interaction.
  • Previous experience in the construction/home building industry or the ability to learn it quickly.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and relevant sales systems technology.
