About the position

The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) role at Carter Lumber is focused on providing exceptional customer service and support to both walk-in customers and online inquiries. The ISR will assist customers with product information, project advice, and transaction processing, while also engaging in lead qualification and inventory control. Responsibilities

  • Assist customers who walk into the store with product information and project advice.
  • Produce estimates for packages/projects and process transactions.
  • Follow up on online customer quotes and cold call to qualify new leads.
  • Support Outside Sales Representatives as needed.
  • Assist in inventory control by conducting cycle counts and resolving overages/shortages.

Requirements

  • Experience working in sales or customer service.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Familiarity with building materials is helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to ensure sales and profit goals are met.
