About the position

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for selling company products and services to customers, managing orders from quotation to collection, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. This role involves processing customer inquiries, negotiating with vendors, and collaborating with the outside sales team to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Sell company products and services to customers by processing orders and inquiries.
  • Maintain responsibility for orders from quotation to collection.
  • Select and specify products using various tools and software.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and process orders.
  • Review customer purchase orders for special conditions and documentation.
  • Check product availability and verify shipping dates.
  • Increase order size by suggesting related items and explaining features.
  • Process and expedite orders, customer returns, and vendor returns accurately and timely.
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery with vendors when necessary.
  • Work closely with Outside Salesman to solicit business and maintain customer service levels.
  • Communicate effectively as a member of the inside sales team and share workload when possible.
  • Maximize gross margin by ensuring payment for superior service and expertise.
  • Review open customer order reports and take action on items at risk of delayed delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1-3+ years' experience in Customer Service related Industry preferred.
  • Experience in an Inside Technical Sales/Customer Service/Application Engineer role with an Industrial Distributor is a plus.
