About the position

As an Inside Sales Specialist at LoanStar, you will be joining a dynamic and rapidly growing sales team that is integral to our mission of connecting lenders with merchants through innovative lending solutions. Our company has experienced exponential growth, driven by a surge in demand for our services, and we are looking for a motivated individual to help us continue this trajectory. In this role, you will be responsible for developing product sales to a diverse range of trade clients, including home improvement contractors such as HVAC, roofing, window, and pool and spa retailers. Your contributions will be vital in expanding our merchant partner network and enhancing their business operations through our consumer lending programs. You will engage in outbound sales efforts to attract and enroll new merchant partners, leveraging your expertise in our LoanStar platform to provide valuable insights and support. Building and maintaining strong relationships with our partners will be key to your success, as you will regularly update and coach them on our programs and processes. You will also conduct training sessions to ensure that new employees at merchant locations are well-versed in utilizing our tools effectively. As you grow the volume of business with existing partners, you will also be tasked with ramping up new partners to generate consistent sales activity. Participation in industry-related trade shows may also be required to promote our offerings and network with potential clients.

Responsibilities

  • Outbound sales to attract and enroll new merchant partners who will use our free consumer lending programs to grow their businesses
  • Develop, maintain and manage strong relationships with our merchant partners
  • Use expert product knowledge and sales consultation to increase partner activity
  • Regularly update and coach partners on the LoanStar program and process
  • Teach businesses how to use our set of tools to position financing and offer monthly payments
  • Develop and execute regular training and coaching sessions with small and midsize businesses
  • Ensure new employees at merchants are fully trained on the LoanStar platform
  • Grow volume with existing partners, while getting new partners ramped up and generating consistent volume
  • Attend industry-related trade shows as needed

Requirements

  • 2+ years of sales experience including cold calling and regular communication with clients (Required)
  • Must be flexible to occasionally work modified hours as some clients will be in different US time zones
  • Self-motivated
  • Extremely driven to have lenders exceed minimum monthly transactional counts
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and in-person
  • Strategic thinking, and inventive ideas to work with a wide variety of clients and personalities
  • 2+ years prior lending/tech industry experience with a proven track record (Preferred)
  • Experience with/ability to learn technical support for the LoanStar platform
  • Proficient computer skills including Google/Microsoft Suites (Gmail, Google Sheets/Docs, Excel/Word), Freshworks, or similar CRM System (eg SAP, SalesForce, etc.)
  • Experience with hands-on direct sales and relationship management
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing successful business-to-business sales and service relationships is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years prior lending/tech industry experience with a proven track record (Preferred)
  • Experience with/ability to learn technical support for the LoanStar platform
