About the position

Guaranteed Supply Company, a third generation, family-owned leading distributor of construction materials in the southeast, is seeking a talented inside/counter sales representative to join our team at our Raleigh, NC location. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with customers in a fast-paced environment. Even if you don't have prior inside sales experience, we welcome candidates with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, as we provide comprehensive training. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ensuring a work-life balance with no weekend shifts required. Compensation for this role ranges from $17 to $19 per hour, depending on experience, along with a quarterly inside sales commissions program that rewards performance. As an Inside Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in assisting walk-in customers with their needs, receiving purchase orders through various channels including in-person, phone, and email. You will be responsible for entering these orders into our system to create tickets and invoices, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Collaboration with the warehouse team is essential to provide timely service to our customers. Additionally, you will follow up on quote requests and purchase orders as necessary, and route new opportunities to the appropriate sales team for further development and closure. Maintaining a well-stocked and organized showroom is also part of your responsibilities, contributing to a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist walk-in customers with items they're looking for
  • Receive purchase orders in-person, via phone and email
  • Enter purchase orders into the system to create tickets and invoices
  • Work closely with the warehouse team to provide customers with timely service
  • Follow up on quote requests and purchase orders as needed
  • Route new opportunities to the appropriate sales team for further development and closure
  • Help keep the showroom stocked and neatly organized

Requirements

  • Counter sales experience preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in customer service preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
