About the position

The Insider Threat Analyst is responsible for designing and implementing security strategies to mitigate insider threats and monitor user activity. This role involves collaboration with cybersecurity teams and business stakeholders to enhance insider threat systems and procedures, ensuring comprehensive protection against potential threats. The ideal candidate will provide technical guidance and lead initiatives to improve the organization's security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Advise Senior Government personnel on security engineering best practices.
  • Work with business and IT stakeholders to identify critical assets and potential threat vectors.
  • Lead program and project team meetings in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Drive process improvements and technology solutions to enhance team productivity.
  • Review improvement actions to enhance the insider threat mission and ensure quality execution.
  • Prepare detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, and status reports.
  • Accountable for all Insider Threat capability project management artifacts.
  • Design, implement, and configure security controls within Insider Threat information systems.
  • Complete DISA STIG reviews including access controls and encryption mechanisms.
  • Develop system security architectures that align with RMF principles.
  • Manage the vulnerability assessment process to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure security configurations adhere to RMF requirements and best practices.
  • Implement security monitoring tools to detect and respond to incidents in real-time.
  • Implement encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
  • Manage user access rights and permissions in accordance with RMF guidelines.
  • Maintain documentation of security controls and generate security assessment reports.
  • Conduct internal and external security audits to assess compliance.

Requirements

  • 12 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Strong independent work ethic and emotional intelligence.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised or within a team environment.
  • Experience with large scale analytics platform system integration.
  • Database and web application experience is desired.
  • Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • Certification in DoD 8570.01-M Cybersecurity workforce and compliance with DoD Directive 8140.
  • IAT Level III certification (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP).

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience with briefing Senior Executive personnel.
