About the position

The Insights Analyst (IS Data Consultant) position at Ochsner Health is designed to bridge the gap between operational areas and the data and analytics teams. The primary responsibility of this role is to identify, interpret, and translate the needs of various operational areas, ensuring that these needs align with the capabilities of the data and analytics teams. This position serves as a business subject matter expert and a liaison, facilitating communication and collaboration to ensure progress on system initiatives. The Insights Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting Ochsner's Growth Strategy by identifying and analyzing opportunities for sustainable growth that benefit providers, staff, and patients alike. In this role, the Insights Analyst will be expected to perform essential duties satisfactorily, which include interpreting and documenting business needs to support the development of analytics solutions. The analyst will analyze data, interpret results, and outline opportunities using analytical techniques, contributing to the ongoing strategy of the organization. Effective communication with assigned customers and end-users is vital, as is the ability to evaluate and understand assigned business processes, challenges, and goals. The position supports all facets of assigned projects throughout the project life cycle, ensuring that the organization remains compliant with current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements. The Insights Analyst will also be responsible for maintaining and enhancing their professional competency, performing related duties as required, and ensuring compliance with the employer's Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct. This role is integral to the success of Ochsner Health's mission to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate, making a significant impact on the healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets and documents business needs to support the development of analytics solutions.
  • Analyzes data, interprets results, and outlines opportunities using analytical techniques and contributes to the ongoing strategy.
  • Collaborates and communicates with assigned customers/end users.
  • Evaluates and understands assigned business processes, challenges, and goals.
  • Supports all facets of assigned project(s) through the project life cycle.
  • Maintains and enhances professional competency.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in healthcare information technology, business intelligence, data management, or related field required; 7 years preferred.
  • Certification in an Epic Application upon hire required; Certification in Project Management preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Proficiency in various office software packages, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical skills and ability to use logical thought process to develop practical solutions to problems.
  • Knowledge of data documentation, storage, and retrieval processes.
  • Knowledge of the full project life-cycle.
  • Data analysis skills and ability to evaluate data and translate into meaningful information.
  • Ability to work with multiple user groups to capture technical requirements, resource capacity, and success metrics.
