About the position

The Inspection Operations Coordinator position within the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) focuses on promoting safety and environmental protection in offshore operations. The role involves auditing inspection processes, coordinating inspection programs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The coordinator will also manage credentialing for field operations employees and investigate incidents of misconduct, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the inspection program.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Regional wells inspection auditor, reviewing inspection processes and conducting offshore audits.
• Monitor the inspection program through database reviews and meetings, providing recommendations for improvements.
• Coordinate the Gulf of Mexico Potential Incident of Non-Compliance (PINC) Team and represent the region in various committees.
• Manage credentialing for District Field Operations employees in accordance with the National BSEE Offshore Credentials Program.
• Investigate incidents of employee misconduct and prepare reports for supervisory review.

Requirements

• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service.
• Experience performing inspections of oil and gas facilities to ensure operational safety and compliance with environmental laws.
• Knowledge of inspection procedures and policies related to offshore oil, gas, and sulfur exploration and development operations.
• Ability to write operational findings and Letters of Deficiency.
