About the position
The Inspection Technician Apprentice role at Western States Fire Protection Company is designed for individuals looking to start a career in the fire protection industry. This apprenticeship involves assisting the Lead Inspector with the inspection and testing of fire protection and life safety equipment, requiring mechanical inclination, self-motivation, and a customer service orientation. Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Inspector in the inspection and testing of various fire protection and life safety equipment.
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and services of life safety product lines.
- Handle low voltage wiring and corresponding devices for the operation of low voltage equipment.
- Comply with all company safety standards and existing company policies.
- Communicate and follow directions from Supervisor and/or Lead Inspector.
- Willing to travel within the state of Colorado as needed.
- Willing to work nights and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Desires a career in the fire protection industry.
- Completion of one NICET level exam within the first 90 days of employment is required.
- Experience with technology such as iPad, smartphone, etc.
- Possess a valid driver's license and clean MVR in accordance with Company policy.
- Clean and professional appearance and reliable transportation.
- Willing to pass post-offer drug screen, background, and reference check.
