About The Position
The position serves as an HVAC Inspector responsible for performing legally required inspections of all heating & cooling, duct work, gas piping, and ventilation systems within the City and County. The inspector ensures that installations and materials comply with applicable Federal, State, and Local codes. This role involves interpreting and enforcing relevant HVAC codes, issuing citations for non-compliance, and investigating citizens' complaints regarding HVAC code violations. The inspector is tasked with eliminating possible life-threatening conditions and ensuring compliance with minimum safety standards. Additionally, the position requires maintaining records of inspections performed, citations issued, and final outcomes, as well as reporting potentially hazardous situations to the proper City authorities such as the Fire Department. The inspector will also record and process inspection reports, meter releases, follow-ups, and other necessary reports, while performing other duties as assigned.
