About the position
The Inspector position is essential for ensuring the quality and compliance of aerospace and defense products in Gloucester, MA. The role involves conducting thorough inspections and validations of manufactured components using various mechanical tools and adhering to design and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspects parts using instruments like micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
- Reads and interprets quality policies, blueprints, and other documentation.
- Conducts receiving, in-process, final inspections, and first article approval for hardware and components.
- Operates computer systems for inspection tasks.
- Verifies accuracy and completeness of work order documentation.
- Performs visual and physical inspections of units and subassemblies.
- Completes unit shakedowns for any foreign objects, rattles, or loose internal components.
Requirements
- Proficiency with mechanical inspection tools (thread gages, micro-hite, drop indicator, surface indicator).
- Knowledge in visual inspection, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
- Preferred experience with CMM operation.
- Ability to perform First Article Inspections.
