About the position

The position involves assisting production workers by performing various manual labor tasks that require less skill. The role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of production processes by handling materials, cleaning work areas, and supporting machine operators.

Responsibilities

• Supply or hold materials or tools for production workers.
• Clean work areas and equipment.
• Manually move freight, stock, or other materials.
• Turn valves to regulate flow of liquids or air and operate machinery.
• Transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas.
• Tie products in bundles for further processing or shipment.
• Signal coworkers to direct them during the production process.
• Separate products according to weight, grade, size, or composition.
• Remove products, machine attachments, or waste material from machines.
• Read gauges or charts and record data obtained.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
• Mark or tag identification on parts.
• Pack and store materials and products.
• Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
• Monitor production operations or equipment to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content.
• Position products, components, or parts for testing.
• Remove defects from products or materials.
• Collect or select samples for testing or for use as models.
• Stack or arrange tested products for further processing, shipping, or packaging.

Requirements

• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Ability to stand for 2/3 of the day or more.
• Use hands to finger, handle, or touch for 2/3 of the day or more.
• Ability to walk and talk or hear for 1/3 to 2/3 of the day.
• Reach above shoulder, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl up to 1/3 of the day.
• Lift up to 40 lbs. continuously and repetitively.
