About the position

As a Field Service Engineer II at Applied Materials, you will be responsible for performing a variety of service activities, primarily through Tier I unassisted and Tier II with assistance. Your role will involve conducting routine preventative maintenance within established timeframes and ensuring quality repairs are completed effectively. You will respond to fab issues by collaborating with other engineers and participating in escalation conference calls, verifying the operational quality of system equipment independently, and assisting senior engineers as needed. You will be expected to follow all checklists and procedures, ensuring that the correct revisions of procedures and schematics are available before performing any work. Striving to perform Best Known Methods (BKM), you will utilize knowledge management systems and adhere to all Intellectual Property (IP) guidelines. Your ability to diagnose and resolve recurring technical problems will be crucial, as will your consistent execution of escalation plans and resolution of day-to-day issues. You will also be involved in supporting the preparation and delivery of technical issues to both internal and external stakeholders, leveraging your knowledge of fundamental theories and your ability to read circuit diagrams with minimal assistance. In this role, you will execute projects aimed at reducing costs and increasing uptime, applying diagnostic techniques and utilizing documentation and test equipment with guidance from senior engineers. You will take responsibility for ensuring complete customer satisfaction within your work area, assisting in planning, communicating, and coordinating support plans with customer management. Safety procedures will be paramount, and you will consistently demonstrate safety as a core value.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all standard service activities through Tier I unassisted and Tier II with assistance.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance within established timeframes.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a related role.
  • Established skills to perform a range of day-to-day activities effectively.
