As a Field Service Engineer II at Applied Materials, you will be responsible for performing a variety of service activities, primarily focusing on Tier I tasks independently and Tier II tasks with some assistance. Your role will involve conducting routine preventative maintenance within established timeframes and ensuring quality repairs are completed effectively. You will be expected to respond to fabrication issues by collaborating with other engineers and participating in escalation conference calls, ensuring that operational quality of system equipment is verified without assistance. Additionally, you will assist senior engineers as needed, following all checklists and procedures while ensuring that the correct revisions of procedures and schematics are available prior to performing any work. Your commitment to best known methods (BKM) will be crucial, as you will utilize knowledge management systems and adhere to intellectual property guidelines. You will be tasked with diagnosing and resolving recurring technical problems, demonstrating a consistent ability to execute escalation plans, and addressing day-to-day issues. Exposure to systemic issue resolution will be part of your responsibilities, as well as supporting the preparation and delivery of technical issues to both internal and external stakeholders. A solid understanding of fundamental theories and the ability to read circuit diagrams with minimal assistance will be essential for your success in this role. You will also execute projects aimed at reducing costs and increasing uptime, applying diagnostic techniques and utilizing documentation and test equipment with guidance from senior engineers. Your role will require you to take responsibility for complete customer satisfaction within your work area, assisting in planning, communicating, and coordinating support plans with customer management.
