About The Position

Under general supervision, performs all installation including but not limited to electrical wiring, support brackets for lights and sirens, computer, radio, camera, printer, docking station, etc. for the Fleet Services Department. Enters time, notes, and parts requests into software system. Provides assistance to department management, co-workers and as well as other County employees as needed.

Requirements

• Must possess strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent computer and organizational skills
• Maintain strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations
• Must be able to pass required background check and pre-employment physical

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the vehicle's equipment and lighting installations, schedule and perform service on public safety vehicle equipment through removal, repairs, and replacements.
• Adhere to strict install standards and processes
• Develop/maintain processes pertaining to flow charts for programming procedures, installs, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate/schedule vehicle radio and camera upgrades and installations.
• Maintain/keep equipment inventory current and updated.
• Maintain professional interactions with County employees at all times.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge
• Show proficiency in various Public Safety vehicle equipment such as, but not limited to: Lights (interior and exterior), Cages, Camera System, Sirens, Controllers, Laptop Dock/Jotto Desk Stand, Remote or Dash Mounted Mobile Radio/Antenna(s)/VHF Equipment, Printers, Scanners, HPD Modem/Air Card, General vehicle mechanics, wiring, and electronics
• Prioritize and complete assigned daily tasks
• Keep ALL office/work areas organized and presentable at all times
• Complete all other tasks assigned.
