About the position

The Installation Project Manager at Midwest Alarm Services is responsible for overseeing the execution of alarm system projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and installation technicians, to ensure seamless project coordination and successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans and schedules, ensuring timely completion of projects within budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and provide guidance to technicians.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, and change orders.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to a team of technicians, assigning tasks and setting performance expectations.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project updates and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure accurate and compliant system designs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source equipment and track deliveries.
  • Define and enforce quality standards for alarm system installations, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the fire protection or construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems, codes, and standards (NFPA, IBC, etc.).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
