About the position

The Installation Project Specialist at Getinge is responsible for ensuring the highest quality installation of medical equipment by adhering to manufacturer's instructions. This role involves close collaboration with the Project Manager to coordinate installation activities, attend customer meetings, and verify site readiness. The specialist will oversee third-party contractors and ensure compliance with health and safety standards while maintaining positive relationships with customers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the evaluation and certification of contractors.
• Develop non-standard cost quotes.
• Act as the technical subject matter expert (SME) for Project Managers.
• Conduct pre-purchase order (PO) site inspections to identify non-standard requirements.
• Conduct pre-installation site inspections to ensure installation site readiness.
• Represent company interests at pre-installation meetings.
• Interface with customers regarding work requirements and protocols.
• Ensure quality installation services at customer establishments according to established procedures and techniques.
• Determine appropriate staffing levels for installations and schedule install staff.
• Provide direction on installation of Getinge products for both union and non-union contractors with onsite presence when needed.
• Ensure all site labor is aware of site requirements such as working hours and safety equipment.
• Provide feedback to Project Managers on contractor progress and capability.
• Work closely with designated Project Manager to coordinate all installation activities.
• Perform installations as needed according to Getinge specifications and verify equipment operation per manufacturer specifications.
• Ensure equipment is fully operable for service to complete checkout and begin handling warranty calls.
• Comply with all health and safety codes and procedures as mandated by Getinge policies and regulatory agencies.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, and Getinge personnel.
• Maintain personal competence through effective use of product information and technical data.
• Participate in training seminars and on-the-job training programs.
• Accurately prepare and submit all required reports within specified timeframes.
• Maintain expenses within limits established by company policy.
• Promote company products and services.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent (i.e. military training program) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years demonstrated hands-on field experience, including ability to apply technical expertise and make judgments regarding complex systems and equipment.
• Preferably 2 years' experience in an elevated field technical service level position.
• Computer literacy; familiarity with information technology concepts, personal computers, Microsoft Windows operating system, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, and the ability to interpret blueprints and installation drawings.
• Valid driver's license required for travel to customer sites.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs.
