About the position

The Installation Support Technician role is a temporary, contract position focused on providing installation and troubleshooting support for network and PC infrastructure. The technician will be responsible for cabling tasks, including running and terminating CAT 5 and CAT 6 cables, as well as installing and configuring network hardware. This position requires physical work, including ladder use, and the technician must provide their own tools.

Responsibilities

• Run, terminate, and test CAT 5 and CAT 6 cables according to industry standards.
• Install and configure network and PC type hardware.
• Drill and securely mount speakers and other equipment as required.
• Safely work on ladders to install and maintain equipment at heights.
• Provide hands-on support for hardware troubleshooting, replacements, and other support tasks as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including cable runs, installations, and troubleshooting steps.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in running CAT 5 and CAT 6 cables, and installing network hardware.
• Ability to work on ladders and overhead.
• Basic understanding of network and PC installation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Good communication skills to interact with team members and clients.
• Knowledge of safety practices related to working with electrical equipment, ladders, and power tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+.
• Previous experience in a similar hands-on IT support role.
