About the position

The Level One Assembly Operator position at Cherry Aerospace involves working under direct supervision to assemble fastener components using basic assembly machines. The role requires interpreting work instructions, performing assembly tasks, and conducting inspections to ensure quality. This position is ideal for individuals with basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
• Gather assembly components based on pick list.
• Wash assembly components prior to assembly.
• Perform basic assembly tasks (Pulling heads & sub-assemblies, bleed guns).
• Perform in-process inspection (visual, fit & form testing).
• Complete traceability paperwork (Manufacture date, serial tags, etc.).

Requirements

• The ability to read and write English.
• The ability to read and interpret work instructions, basic prints and dimensions (Exploded Views).
• Basic Print Reading skills.
• Basic Shop Math skills.
• Basic Inspection Processes (Tools & Measurements).
• Communication Skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 0-1 years of experience in a similar role.
• GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
