About the position
The Installer III is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on various surfaces, including rooftops and ground mounts. This role involves a range of activities such as measuring, cutting, drilling, and performing minor electrical work, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. The Installer III also plays a mentoring role for less experienced installers and may be required to communicate directly with customers.
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading company vehicle with project materials
- Assembling all roof components in an efficient and safe manner
- Performing PV array electrical work independently
- Installing projects adhering to Freedom Forever plan sets
- Flashing penetrations as needed to ensure project quality
- Providing onsite guidance and recommendations to Installer I's and Installer II's
- Serving as the roof lead when roof lead is not present
- Ensuring all work is performed in strict compliance with Freedom Forever policies and applicable codes
- Following all direction given by senior members of the crew
- Ensuring customer satisfaction
- Communicating directly with end user(s) as required
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED
- 1-2 years PV installation experience (Preferred)
- Fundamental understanding of all PV products installed by Freedom Forever
- Basic understanding of building standards and applicable codes
- Ability to communicate with others professionally and concisely
- Compliant installation of conduit (EMT, RMC, IMC, LFMC and FMC)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Nice-to-haves
- Completion of all assigned Freedom Forever training modules and documentation by the designated due date
- Optional training (Freedom Forever and external party) may be completed at the employee's discretion outside of business hours
