About the position

The Investment Liaison at MassMutual plays a crucial role in managing relationships with investment managers and clients related to the BOLI/COLI investment portfolios. This position serves as the primary contact for investment-related matters, ensuring effective communication of investment strategies and performance. The role involves monitoring investment manager performance, participating in sales opportunities, and providing detailed presentations to clients and brokers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for investment-related matters pertaining to MassMutual's BOLI/COLI business line.
  • Research and prepare presentation materials for client meetings and due diligence.
  • Directly manage relationships with external investment management firms.
  • Answer broker and client inquiries regarding the General Account and economic impacts.
  • Participate and present at broker/client conferences and individual client visits.
  • Responsible for investment reporting and analysis for $5 billion in BOLI separate accounts.
  • Develop and monitor investment guidelines and manage investment manager relationships.
  • Analyze existing and potential new managers and communicate investment styles to clients.
  • Visit investment managers annually to build and maintain relationships.
  • Oversee the investment analyst role and support client services' investment needs.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of a full range of investment asset classes.
  • Experience managing relationships with external investment managers or vendors.
  • Experience in a financial services firm with exposure to investment terminology and analysis.
  • Proficient in reviewing and analyzing written and numerical materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders, brokers, and clients.
  • Ability to facilitate and present at conferences and in one-on-one meetings.
  • Series 6 or 7 license required.
