About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Institutional Investment Operations Specialist in FX Operations as part of Corporate Investment Banking. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating the amendment and cancellation events of FX trades while maintaining awareness of market, settlement, and regulatory risks, all within tight regulatory Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will work closely with internal teams to resolve and troubleshoot issues related to trades and systems that arise from trade amendment or cancellation events. Additionally, you will monitor various exception queues throughout the day and work diligently to clear them. Your role will also involve creating various reports with a focus on data analysis for multiple audiences using system-provided data. You will be actively engaged in improving existing processes and systems, participating in projects related to these improvements, and providing guidance, requirements, and testing as needed. Lifecycle support tasks for FX trades will be part of your responsibilities, where you will identify opportunities for process enhancements. As a specialist, you will assist leadership in bringing individuals or teams together to resolve complex issues. You will review and analyze functional operational tasks that require research, evaluation, and independent judgment to guide deliverables. Providing subject matter expertise on projects and internal and industry-related initiatives will be crucial, as will presenting recommendations for resolving complex situations while developing expertise in functions and projects. Collaboration and consultation with peers, colleagues, and managers will be essential to resolve issues and achieve goals effectively.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance, Economics, or Business.
  • 2+ years prior experience in Foreign Exchange preferably in a back office or middle office capacity or demonstrate appreciable knowledge of foreign exchange trades and settlements.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers, business partners, peers, and upper management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and fluid environment and work under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new systems, processes, and regulations quickly and regularly, and be comfortable working with technology and applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to convey processes, procedures, guidelines, and analytics in approachable layman's terms.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire for continued learning.

  • Knowledge of FX applications such as Opics, Pega, Intellimatch, Sapphire, etc.
