About the position

The Institutional Research Analyst II position at St. Charles Community College (SCC) is a full-time role within the Institutional Research Department. The analyst will engage in a variety of research and analytical tasks that support essential functions such as college planning, budgeting, program evaluation, student retention, and enrollment data analysis. This role requires maintaining a high level of knowledge regarding data processing and research methodologies, ensuring that the college's data-driven decisions are based on accurate and comprehensive analyses. The analyst will be responsible for performing technical and analytical tasks with a strong emphasis on the collection, interpretation, reporting, aggregation, and evaluation of data. This includes writing both simple and complex queries for data extraction and analysis, as well as preparing related reports and summaries that will be utilized in decision-making processes. The position also involves assisting with the preparation of mandatory reporting and surveys for local, state, and federal entities, and developing written and oral reports, as well as presentations for workshops and seminars to support the college community. In addition to these responsibilities, the analyst will gather chronicles and categorical research material while maintaining institutional databases and archive records. The ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines is crucial, as is the capacity to work with minimal supervision. The analyst will also contribute to team goals and create a work environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, potentially cross-training other employees in the work unit and providing backup support during busy periods. Interpersonal skills are essential, as the analyst will interact with various stakeholders in a professional and welcoming manner, supporting the mission and goals of the college.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher plus one (1) year experience in a related field, OR Associates degree or higher plus three (3) years' experience in a related field, OR High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of six years related experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of performance measurement principles and ability to critique statistical data accuracy and presentation.
  • Experience in current best practices in usability and accessibility, following college, state, and federal procedures and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to design, implement, analyze, and summarize complex research into reports for decision-making.
