About the position

The Institutional Research Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the academic and fiscal management of the University by extracting, organizing, and analyzing data related to faculty, students, and curricular information. This position involves maintaining and reporting on various data sets to aid in planning and policy-making across the institution, particularly within its academic components. The analyst will also be responsible for submitting federally mandated data to the U.S. Department of Education and performing one-time projects related to data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Extract, gather, rectify, organize, maintain, analyze, interpret, project, report, and distribute faculty, student, and curricular information.
  • Support academic and fiscal management, planning, policy, and reporting activities of the University.
  • Collect and submit federally mandated data for the U.S. Department of Education Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS).
  • Perform one-time projects in addition to regular data gathering, analysis, and reporting functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Two to three years of related experience.
  • Technology skills including SQL query writing, statistical/spreadsheet software, Power BI, and business intelligence or data visualization tools.
  • Experience with relational databases is mandatory.
  • Experience in data-related activities of an organization using multiple databases is required.
  • Effective communication skills.
