About the position

The Institutional Research and Analytics Services Student Worker position at Northeast Community College is designed to provide valuable assistance and support to the Institutional Research and Analytics Team. This role is ideal for current students who are looking to gain practical experience while contributing to the team's efforts in organizing and documenting various policies, processes, and projects. The Student Worker will have the opportunity to learn and utilize Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, which are essential tools for collaboration and project management within the team. In addition to supporting departmental efforts, the Student Worker may also participate in university surveys and data governance initiatives. This position requires the individual to respond to customer inquiries through various channels, including email, phone calls, and in-person appointments with faculty and staff. Providing efficient and friendly customer service is a key aspect of this role, as is the ability to accurately document, track, and monitor work activities. The position offers flexibility, allowing the Student Worker to work either in the office or remotely. However, all remote workers must adhere to the Telecommuting policy set forth by Northeast Community College and are expected to attend on-campus meetings as needed. This role not only enhances the Student Worker’s technical skills but also fosters professional development through direct interaction with faculty and staff, making it a valuable opportunity for students looking to enhance their resumes while still in school.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Institutional Research and Analytics Team in organizing and documenting team policies, processes, and projects.
  • Learn and utilize Microsoft Teams and SharePoint for team collaboration.
  • Participate in university surveys and data governance initiatives.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via email, phone calls, and in-person appointments from faculty and staff.
  • Provide efficient and friendly customer service while accurately documenting and tracking work activities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Current student at Northeast Community College.
  • Technical knowledge of SharePoint or a desire to learn the technology.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Outlook, and Word is needed.
  • At least one year of experience in related training/courses or work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with designing elements in SharePoint is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to research and resolve issues.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

Benefits
