About the position

The Institutional Research & Planning Analyst 3 position at the University of California Office of the President is a part-time role focused on survey administration, data analysis, and reporting within the Institutional Research and Academic Planning (IRAP) department. The analyst will develop and oversee surveys, analyze data related to student experiences, and provide insights to support policy changes and improve institutional practices. This role requires a strong background in statistics, data management, and survey methodologies, as well as the ability to work with sensitive data while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop survey questions and oversee survey administration for various purposes.
  • Interpret survey responses and provide recommendations for policy changes based on data analysis.
  • Conduct data validation and resolve issues related to survey data.
  • Create reports and dashboards summarizing survey results for non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with campus survey coordinators to improve survey participation rates.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience, including graduate work.
  • Experience in survey methodologies and analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of survey tools such as Qualtrics and data management tools like SAS and Tableau.
  • Experience working with sensitive data and knowledge of FERPA and California IPA regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
