About the position

The Instructional Aide position at Florence Crittenton Services of Orange County involves providing instructional support to students under the direction of a Classroom Teacher. The role focuses on assisting with classroom management, conducting instructional activities, and ensuring a conducive learning environment for students, particularly those who are ESL learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction of students under the direct supervision of Classroom Teacher.
• Conduct instructional activities assigned by Classroom Teacher; work with individual students or small groups for the purpose of practicing/reinforcing learning concepts.
• Implement, under the supervision of Classroom Teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans.
• Assist in classroom management.
• Assist to manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and expectations.
• Assist Teacher in preparing instructional materials.
• Prepare classroom for class activities; maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with the inventory, care and maintenance of classroom equipment.
• Assist with monitoring student transitions, meal periods, and breaks.
• Assist Teacher to maintain accurate and complete records of student's progress and development.
• Assist in escorting/transporting students to/from school/campus and on instructional outings as needed.
• Adhere to all program policy and procedures as established by the Office of Refugee Resettlement including PSA, Special Incident Reporting, and documentation requirements.
• Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
• Proficiency in Spanish required.
• Experience working with ESL students strongly preferred.
