About the position
The Instructional Assistant position at TLC is designed to support certificated teachers in delivering effective instruction to students in a K-12 hybrid homeschool environment. Under the guidance of an assigned supervisor, the Instructional Assistant will work closely with individual students or small groups, providing tailored educational support to enhance learning outcomes. This role is crucial in monitoring student progress, both in terms of behavior and academic performance, and involves tutoring students in specific subject areas as needed. In addition to direct instructional support, the Instructional Assistant will assist with various classroom activities and related tasks, ensuring a conducive learning environment. This may include preparing instructional materials, organizing classroom resources, and helping to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere. The role also encompasses clerical duties, such as managing paperwork and assisting with office tasks, which are essential for the smooth operation of the educational setting. The Instructional Assistant may be required to complete additional duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration, contributing to the overall mission of TLC to empower students through collaborative education.
Responsibilities
- Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of students.
- Monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance.
- Tutor students in assigned subject areas.
- Assist with instruction and related activities in a classroom or assigned learning environment.
- Complete office and clerical duties as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent.
- Fingerprint clearance is required.
- Negative TB test within the last 60 days is necessary.
- Must upload resume to be considered for an interview.
- Upload other certification documents (i.e. CPR, Negative TB, etc.).
