About the position
The Instructional Assistant Special Schools position is designed to support the behavioral needs of students within the Jordan School District. This role is part of the Jordan Behavior Assistance Team (JABAT) and focuses on helping students from PreK through Post High School to access core content and engage in healthy social interactions in a supportive environment. Instructional Assistants will work closely with students in the classroom and implement behavior plans developed by behavior specialists.
Responsibilities
- Support the behavioral needs of students in the classroom.
- Implement behavior plans created by behavior specialists.
- Assist students in accessing core content and engaging in social interactions.
- Participate in training sessions as required by the Special Education Department.
Requirements
- Must complete Basic Training (5 hours) provided by JSD Special Education Department within one week of hire.
- Additional 40 hours of training available to increase to lane 6, to be completed within six months from hire.
