About the position

The Instructional Assistant for Special Education (SPED) Severe Preschool is a part-time role focused on supporting a certificated teacher in delivering specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs. The position involves assisting in the preparation of instructional materials, implementing lesson plans, and supporting the execution of Individual Education Plans (IEP) and behavior modification programs. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive learning environment for preschool-aged children with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students with special learning needs.
• Prepare instructional materials and implement lesson plans.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP) and 504 Plans.
• Support the implementation of behavior modification programs.
• Perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with children in an educational or organized learning environment.
• Experience working with individuals with special needs is desirable.
